Merino/silk is a lovely, full-bodied luxury base that is not superwash-treated. It’s great for sweater knitting, and after washing the stitch definition becomes even more beautiful and fuller. It can easily be knit together with a mohair and used for one of Petiteknit's many beautiful designs. It can be knit on wooden needles as well as metal needles. Many sensitive people can tolerate it because the merino in it is a fine merino. If you are allergic to wool, you should move up to AKW scale A and look for your yarn there, but if you’re \"just\" sensitive, you should do just fine with this yarn.

Mohair is not just mohair..... mohair is hair and not wool. Therefore, the shorter the hairs are the more it will itch - similar to if we had been closely cropped. Economically, producers get more out of shearing the goats often and thus obtain more yarn than by letting them grow long hair. The longer the hairs are, the more they lie flat against our skin and therefore itch less. It is not recommended for allergy sufferers and therefore has a category C, but if you are " just" sensitive, I would still recommend you try this one, as it is really different.

Our mohair is CSM certified (Certified Sustainable Mohair), which means that everything from how the mohair goat is treated, lives and is cared for to how the people who look after them are treated and paid, etc., is monitored at all times. This means you can buy our mohair without guilt and thereby support Africa's mohair goats and their herders. They ensure the goats are well cared for and that the people receive their pay and have proper working conditions

We work a lot on image editing of our products and we do our best to achieve the most true-to-life picture of the yarn. However, you should be aware that colors can vary depending on the screen you view the images on.
