Merino/silk is a lovely, full-bodied luxury base that is not superwash-treated. It’s great for sweater knitting, and after washing the stitch definition becomes even prettier and fuller, and it can easily be held together with a mohair and used for one of PetiteKnit's many beautiful designs. It can be knitted on wooden needles as well as metal needles. Many sensitive people can tolerate it, because the merino in it is a fine merino. If you are allergic to wool, you should go up to AKW scale A and look for your yarn, but if you’re \" just\" sensitive, you should have no problem tolerating this yarn.

Mohair is not just mohair..... mohair is hair and not wool. Therefore, the shorter the hairs are the more it itches - just like if we were crew-cut. Economically, producers get more out of shearing the goats often and thus obtain more yarn than letting them grow long hair. The longer the hairs are, the more they lie flat against our skin and therefore itch less. It is not recommended for allergy sufferers and therefore it has a category C, but if you are "just" sensitive, I would recommend that you try this one, as it really is different.

Our mohair is CSM certified ( Certified Sustainable Mohair), which means that everything from how the mohair goat is treated, lives and is cared for to how the people who look after them are doing and receive their pay etc. is monitored all the time. This means that you can buy our mohair without guilt and thereby support Africa's mohair goats and their herders. They ensure that the goats are well cared for and the people receive their pay and have proper working conditions

We work a lot with photo editing of our products and we do our best to achieve the most true-to-life image of the yarn. However, you should be aware that colors may vary depending on the screen you view the images on.
